What is C-parts management?
C-parts are components with low value but high procurement effort – in machining, typically nuts, bushings, bolts and sleeves. C-parts management means: bundling demand, reducing ordering transactions and securing supply on a consumption-driven basis.
With C-parts, the costs arise not in the material but in the process. Every transaction costs the same – at a fraction of the value. And if a part worth a few cents is missing, the assembly still comes to a standstill.
